If your pet becomes ill while in our care we will contact you as soon as possible.
If your pet has become ill prior to our visit, you MUST inform us so that we all can make the best informed decision on care for that next scheduled appointment or if we should plan to reschedule.
DAPS requires proof of vaccinations prior to services. Minimally required, in order to receive our services, is the Distemper and Rabies vaccines. If your pet is not able to have vaccines, we will need a letter from your Vet stating this and why. We will then discuss with you and your vet if our services are appropriate.
When you sign your pet up, you'll be signing a vet care release as part of our service agreement. It is your responsibility to arrange emergency payment options between you and your veterinarian in case D.A.P.S. needs to transport your pet in the event of urgent care needed. An emergency contact is also required in case you aren't available to care for your pet or in case you can't be reached to make decisions about your pet's care.
If we cannot get in touch with you to inform you of your pet’s condition and it is an emergency that requires medical attention, we will transport your pet to its primary veterinarian as per our records. If necessary and after your Vet's Business hours, we will transport to an emergency care facility which would be at the Purdue Animal Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana. All medical expenses will be the responsibility of the sick/injured pet’s owner. There will be a charge of $25 per trip for our travels and time to your vet. If a trip to Purdue is needed, further charges will apply. Once at a hospital, we will keep you well informed of your pet's condition.
